The obvious photo during a wedding speech is the person with the microphone. The better story usually happens everywhere else in the room too.

A branded backdrop and a few handshake photos are part of corporate event coverage. They are not the whole job. The real story is people, purpose, scale, details and what the company actually did in the room.

Wedding ceremony photography is not just about finding the prettiest angle. You need the photographs without becoming part of the ceremony everybody came to watch.

10-bit 4:2:2 is useful. Very useful sometimes. It also gets talked about like it can fix bad exposure, bad lighting and bad shooting decisions. It cannot.

Cameras fail. Wireless systems drop. DJ feeds clip. Good event audio is less about finding one perfect recording and more about making sure one failure does not ruin the moment.

Harsh midday light is not automatically bad light. Once you stop trying to make it behave like golden hour, it becomes a completely different creative tool.

Prime lenses can give you beautiful results. Fast zooms can keep you from missing things. At an event, the better lens is often the one that gets out of your way.

Bounce flash is one of the easiest ways to get clean event light. Then you walk into a room with a black ceiling, twenty foot walls and nowhere useful to send the flash.
